People get all twisted in a knot whenever they see an opinion they don't agree with... Can you believe that total loser saying things that probably 100+ million people in this country would agree with? What a sack of crap. And isn't it outrageous that a Catholic college invited a Catholic person to...

Shyster comments about his apparent dislike of Disney; response: "you're not one that would like to spend time with a significant other" I wouldn't say I dislike Disney World. My view is that's a lot of expense and aggravation for a one-day thing. But if that's someone's thing, then go for it. My i...

Second the silicone lube. Regular WD-40 isn't a lubricant and will eventually gum up. The do offer a silicone lube; it's the WD-40 Specialist Silicone Lubricant.

Seems to me like one could get the same experience by going to a sauna all day while using $20 bills as fuel to keep the fire going. Oh, and take a public bus to and from the sauna and ask the person behind you to kick the back of your seat. Bonus points if someone on the bus gets into a fistfight o...

RIP Rosie. That really sucks Ronnie, but it sounds like any sort of positive quality of life just wasn't available any more. You made the right decision.

Not a velociraptor, but I did have to stop mowing in order to shoo a garter snake out of the mowing path and off my front lawn. No step on snek.

Looks like the mourning dove that nested in an old robin's nest above my front door had the typical two squabs. Doves are notoriously bad at building nests. The round part on the bottom was built by the robins and was sturdy enough to still be there a couple years later. The haphazard sticks on top ...

I have a hard time coming up with a public figure who has done more to destroy his own reputation than Rudy Giuliani, or one who has fallen farther thereby.

A decent Japanese market should have rice available in bulk, like 10- to 15-lb bags. Maybe larger.

Yeah, Tamanishiki comes in 15 lb. bags. I decant the rice into sealable storage containers when I open a new one.

There are plenty more PHEVs on the market, but from what I can see only the RAV4 Prime, Prius Prime, a Volvo, and a couple Land Rovers of all things currently offer an electric-only range over 40 miles. Most seem to currently be around 30 miles or less of pure EV range. Bump that up to like 60 miles...

I don't know what that means, and I have a feeling that I should be proud to not know what that means. Is Drake a rapper? I think Drake is a rapper. Other than that, I don't know.

Well, I could see like joking that someone is a pedophile or joking about chilren who died of cancer or something would be off-limits as simply being in too bad of taste to make, but dude got busted in a rub and tug? I agree with Toyota (which has been very hesitant to do full electrics) that the current sweet spot for vehicles is the plug-in hybrid, especially if companies get the range on PHEVs up to at least 40-50 miles per charge. Most people on average drive less than 40 miles per day, so a PHEV with that r...

This tweet from a few pages back is once again relevant. https://twitter.com/Bonks_n_Stonks/status/1664403855038205957 Setting the price aside, the diffrence in size between the two trucks is massive. The new one is a crew cab and the old one isn't, but other than that I think they are both a "2500"...

I generally keep supplies of three types of rice: (1) the red cargo rice; (2) basmati rice, and (3) a short-grain Japonica rice. For the short-grain, I like the Tamanishiki brand. It's a US-grown hybrid of Koshihikari rice and Yumegokochi rice. I once read an article about what brands of rice that J...

I think she misstated "hypothetical" when she likely meant "moot." Something that will never happen again is moot.

I didn't say the answer wasn't weaseley. I said it was a lawyer answer. Lawyer answers are practically weaseley by definition. ;)

Well, I suppose coolant exiting the engine in that fashion is better than exiting via the tailpipe. Or into the oil.
