if I was a Shystery lawyer, I’d argue that Ace was sexually assaulted because Finkle “forced” a kiss, which is bad enough, but also did so under false pretenses and Ace never consented There are some states (I don't think PA is one) that have laws against "rape by deception" or "rape by fraud" or s...

Been watching Fallout, and it's pretty decent, but they really need to do some sort of reference for the legendary bugginess that so often rears its head in Bethesda games. Like there should be a scene where the main characters come across a body that's halfway sticking out of a wall, or someone in ...

The point isn’t that they’ve had X number of successful launches. The point is that it takes 1 failed launch/explosion to irradiate everything for probably hundreds of miles. Well, yeah. I wasn't saying that trying to launch nuclear waste into space was a good idea. It's a staggering bad idea, both...

Outside of test flights, when is the last time a launch vehicle exploded in the atmosphere? And it's not like these would be orbital missions. Literally, fire that s**t into the sun. Space X seems to have a pretty poor record. Even the shuttle program had its issues. I’m not going to argue and die ...

I remain both surprised and annoyed that water-cooled video cards aren't really a thing yet. There are some cards out there with water blocks, but most of the ones I've seen are set up with connectors only such that you have to run your own custom pump and radiator. And the handful that are set up w...

Not really. Compared to the waste byproduct from virtually any other kind of power, it takes up very little room and is pretty safe if done properly (deep underground, lead walls, etc.) It can also be reprocessed to greatly reduce the amount of waste. Right now, the cost of obtaining more uranium f...

What are you doing on that beast that requires such high horsepower? Ha, nothing. I know it's currently way overpowered and over-memoried, but I did that with the hope that I wouldn't need to touch that hardware again for many years. Plus, that laptop CPU has a lower TDP than desktop chips that AMD...

I also decided to recently upgrade my Linux machine. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 case has mounting spots both for a full-size ATX mobo and for a mini-ITX. My Linux machine is now a Minisforum BD770i mini-ITX that uses an integrated laptop AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX (8C/16T). I put in 64GB of memory, and that ...

Ms. Morey said, "General reminder that force used to disperse peaceful protesters engaging in civil disobedience should be proportional and reasonable." Acts of "civil disobedience," by definition,...

I agree and think it might be better without a date. The whole impression is, IMO, quite dressy, notwithstanding the fact that it's based on a wheel design. Dates aren't necessarily needed on a dress watch.

I think this FTC rule will likely run into the same problem under the Major Questions Doctrine as the EPA did in West Virginia v. EPA . The FTC Act is well over 100 years old (passed in 1914), but it has never before been interpreted as barring non-competes as "unfair methods of competition." Non-co...

That BBS watch is really growing on me, although I don't think it has grown enough for me to spend $3,000. The only thing I don't like is that the Union Glashütte logo appears to be on the crystal. I would have made it smaller and put it on the top of the dial. Random trivia: the town of Glashütte i...

They were also largely not enforceable in other locations. Good to just put the nail in the coffin on them. :?: The only place I'm aware of that does not enforce non-competes under at least some circumstances is California. And even California permits non-compete agreements in connection with the s...

LED technology has made even small flashlights amazingly bright. A little LED flashlight that can slip into a pocket is way brighter now than those massive multi-D-battery halogen flashlights from back in the day that could have doubled as baseball bats. There's no way a phone can even come close to...
